Fun at Northern Twilight Farm

The kindergarten class from Telkwa school enjoyed a day at Northern Twilight farm on June 24.


The kids learned how to be around horses safely while brushing two of our Welsh mares, Merryleggs and Lily. They had to clean a stall (the pooper scooper team) and learn what a pony eats for supper.
Holly asked Spirit to rear for the kids,

while they watched from their impromtu grandstand.

They enjoyed a scavenger hunt that included items like a chicken with a silly 'hair-do" and a horse with blue eyes.

After they had met most of the horses, like our new Arabian stallion, Oregon,

Whitney, our 15 year old "bugoligist", taught the kids about aquatic insects and pond ecology.

The day ended with a walk through the hay field to see the pond and all the tiny creatures that live there.

Birthday Party Packages

Parties are for 2 hours of fun on the farm. Includes petting zoo, and either a 1 hour wagon ride or 1 hour of leadline pony/horse rides. Horses and ponies are lead for safety in an enclosed area. No riding experience is nessecary. Wagon rides are great for the whole family. Sit back and enjoy the scenery. We have a picnic area for you to enjoy your own cake and refreshments (non-alcholic); we supply 'goodie bags' and balloons. Minimum of 2 weeks notice is needed to book a party and payment is due when you do the booking. All birthday bookings are subject to availability All parties require one or more adults, 19 years or older to be present for the duration of the party. 6 people and under(including adult caretaker): $100 Each additional person is $15 (maximum 10 people) We require an extra caretaker, 16 years or older, for children under 6 years.

Guided Trail Rides Trail rides are for people that have had some horse back riding experience. By keeping our riding groups small we can give more personal attention to each rider on the trail, insuring a safer and more enjoyable ride. We have several very safe ponies for children. We offer an hour long ride and a 2 hour long ride. Maximum of 4 people to a ride. 1 hour ride: $30 per person 2 hour ride: $56 per person All trail rides must be booked in advance. Trail rides are offered 7 days a week: morning, afternoon and evening but are subject to availability.

Wagon rides A wagon ride is the perfect way for the whole family to enjoy horses and the outdoors. All ages can ride comfortably in our small wagon pulled by a pair of Welsh Mountain Ponies on a tour around our farm and the surrounding area. We offer an hour long wagon ride. 8 adults fill our wagon. 1 hour wagon ride: Minimum $50 charge $25 per person over 14 yrs $12 per person under 14 yrs Children under the age of 3 ride for free with their parent or guardian. All wagon rides must be booked in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

Petting Zoo While your family and friends are at the Farm, they are welcome to get to know some of our smaller animals. We have chickens, miniature ponies, rabbits and other small farm animals. All our animals are clean, well cared for and friendly. Petting zoo time is included for free with other activities. School groups and daycares are encouraged to contact the farm for special rates on all our Fun on the Farm activities.
